the project.

This consultation leveraged WaterAid’s Equality, Inclusion, and Rights Framework to develop a bespoke analytical tool to assess the effectiveness of the gender equality work of WaterAid and its partners, categorised across the spectrum of harmful to transformative.

Extending beyond specific criteria against each thematic area, the lens of ‘visible, hidden and invisible’ power was applied across the tool, recognising that ‘unseen power’ is essential to capture while on the journey to transformation.

Application of the tool identified learning and recommendations across thematic areas to support WaterAid in realising their ambitions of being a gender transformative organisation. The review also provided beneficial supporting evidence of Water Aid’s contributions toward advancing the WASH sector in gender transformation.
