Evaluation of Amnesty International UK’s
Brave Campaign
the project.
This evaluation combined Participatory Learning and Action tools with Qualitative Comparative Analysis - a novel approach for surfacing complex pathways well suited for human rights campaigns.
The utilisation-focused evaluation accounted for the sensitivities of working with Human Rights Defenders, taking a collaborative and participatory approach to selecting the methodology and data collection tools. This allowed our team to remain objective and sensitive to our relative positioning, power, and bias.
The evaluation report included achievements and challenges of the Brave campaign, including its impact on human rights systems, its inclusivity design, and people’s participation and experience of the campaigns. The evaluation scope included campaign planning and implementation through to exit, including participation in the strategy development.
Our team also provided strategic guidance, enabling Amnesty International UK to action the evaluation recommendations effectively.
