the project.
This evaluation focused on the impact of the Football Welcomes programme on creating more welcoming communities for refugees, the impact and value of partnership working, and the extent to which the project helped Amnesty International UK become more relevant and visible.
In recognition of the fact that participants of the programme are better positioned to surface information not easily accessed by external evaluators, this participant-led evaluation was led by Rights-Holders, allowing more specific insights into the effectiveness of the programming.
This approach strengthened Amnesty International UK’s understanding of local realities as it moved beyond extractive evaluation models toward meaningful co-design and participation.
The methodology and final evaluation report were based on anti-racist and non-discriminatory principles, using inclusive, accessible language, graphics, and imagery with awareness of different cultural considerations for different communities.
